Designed by Women for Women

Lucy Monica Poulden grew up in Berkshire and has now settled in South London where she runs you see lucy ltd

From a young age, Lucy was obsessed with colour, texture and abstract images. This led her down the path to completing Art A Level, then an Art foundation in Cardiff under the tutelage of Issey Miyake’s former assistant Sally. Lucy’s natural flare for Textile Design was quickly spotted which took her down the path to achieving a Textiles Degree at Chelsea College of Arts, one of world's most prestigious art and design colleges.

It was there she discovered her love for manipulating reflective material within her specialism of Print CAD (Computer Aided Design) and experimented with sportswear fabrics. At her Degree show, Lucy’s aesthetically pleasing, dramatic designs were noticed by talent spotters from Nike and Calvin Klein. And was offered a chance to sell her samples. As a budding entrepreneur, Lucy declined their offer and went on to develop her own brand identity.

Soon after, when Lucy started cycling to work, she started tailoring her stylish reflective details to her commuter leggings. It was when she was struck by a car one night, having decided against getting changed into her reflective gear (after dinner), that she knew her legging needed to be more than practical. It needed to be stylish. To ensure women don’t have to make that choice between an awkward toilet change and their safety. And so the seed of you see lucy was born.
